Davidson Owumi is new chairman of Ex-Rangers Association
General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, Prince Davison Owumi has been elected the chairman of EX-Rangers International Football Club Association in Enugu, Tuesday.
The election which was conducted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu produced Owumi as the chairman with 33 votes as against his opponents 18 and zero votes.
Ex-Rangers, Owumi, Arthur Egbunam and Stanley Okoronkwo contested for the post of chairmanship and Egbunam gathered 18 votes while Okoronkwo had no vote.
For the post of Secretary, Edmund Ndukanma won with 35 votes as against Sunday Emele 15 votes.
Christian Isiadinso became the vice chairman after winning Ifeanyi Ezeji and Ignatius Okafor with 25 votes as against 16 and 9 votes respectively.
In the post of financial secretary, Michael Ogbodudu defeated Akim Ashiru with 37 votes as against 10 votes.
The post of Publicity Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasury and Welfare officer were un-opposed.
Harrison Okagbue became the publicity secretary; Joseph Aniadinso became the Treasurer while Napoleon Ilozulu and Ifeanyi Mazili emerged the Assistant secretary and welfare officer respectively.
Speaking after the election, the Association' Grand Patron, Emeka Nwosu said that the election was free, fair and transparent.
Nwosu who is also the senior special adviser to Anambra State Governor on inter party affairs advised the new executive lead by Owumi to always be together, work in harmony and take the Association to higher height.
``As u can see today emerged a new chairman, Davison Owumi and I think everything went smoothly and there are no manipulation of any sort,’’ he said.
He urged them to incorporate those Ex-Rangers who are absent at the election and those that are passionate about Ex-Rangers.
The Ex-chairman, Christian Chukwu noted that the swearing in and handover to the new executives will be next week and he promised to communicate the members on the date when finalised.
